About vinHQ

vinHQ is a free tool that helps Australian drivers check whether their vehicle is subject to a safety recall. Enter a VIN, and we match it against every recall CSV published by the Australian government.

Our goal is simple: make government recall data faster, cleaner, and easier to act on. No accounts. No spam. No dark patterns. Just the information you need in the moment you need it.

Where the data comes from

All recall information on this site is sourced from vehiclerecalls.gov.au, published by the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

We fetch updates several times per day and refresh our pages automatically. There may be a short delay between a recall being published on the government site and appearing here.

Information accuracy

We update our database from the official source on a regular schedule, but information here may not always reflect the most recent recalls, revisions, or remedy changes. A “no match” result on our VIN check does not guarantee your vehicle is unaffected — not every recall publishes a full VIN list.

Before acting on anything you read here — especially anything safety critical — confirm directly with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer. Their information is authoritative; ours is a convenience layer over it.

Not affiliated with government

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any government body. Recall information is provided for general informational purposes only. Always contact the vehicle manufacturer directly to confirm recall status and arrange repairs.
