The defect

Audi R8 vehicles could have a possible oil leakage in the gearbox breather when the vehicle is being driven on a racetrack and extreme driving manoeuvres are being undertaken.

The hazard

Oil vapour escaping from the gearbox breather can make contact with hot components in the engine compartment. As a result, smoke may be produced and the vehicle could catch fire.

The remedy
