The defect

Due to a processing error, the locking pin securing the head restraint may be missing on individual head restraints for the rear centre seat.

The hazard

If the centre rear seat is occupied in an accident, the centre head restraint may detach from the guide pins. There may be increased risk of injury to the passenger in this seat as the support and protection functions of the head restraint may not perform as expected.

The remedy

Audi Australia Pty Ltd will contact all known owners of affected vehicles.
