The defect

Vibration on long rides at a constant high engine rpm, under certain circumstances, can cause foaming of the brake fluid in the brake reservoir.

The hazard

If the defect occurs, the foaming brake fluid may cause air to enter into the brake system and adversely affect braking performance. Reduced braking performance poses a hazard to the rider and other road users.

The remedy

Consumers should contact an authorised BMW Motorrad dealer, or call the BMW Group Australia Customer Interaction Centre on freecall: 1 800 813 299
