An internal short-circuit may occur in the area of the electric contacts of the diesel fuel filter heating unit.

The hazard

In unfavourable individual cases, an electrical short-circuit may occur in the diesel fuel filter heater, which may lead to a vehicle fire.The diesel fuel filter heater unit only operates at temperatures below -1° Celsius.

The remedy

Consumers should contact an authorised BMW motor vehicle service centre, or call the BMW Group Australia Customer Interaction Centre on freecall: 1 800 813 299.
