The defect

The electrical wiring and the fan resistor for the vehicle's interior fan blower motor may deteriorate over time.

The hazard

Defect may cause overheating and short circuit or melting at the plug-in contact at the fan resistor, which can lead to a fire.

The remedy

Owners will be contacted by BMW Group Australia Ltd or a BMW dealer. Consumers may contact an authorised BMW Service centre, or call the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1 800 813 299 to arrange inspection and repair.
