The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect the timing-chain tensioner is subject to wear. Gradually the timing chain may no longer be adequately tensioned and could slip it's sprockets, causing the engine to stall.

The hazard

If the defect occurs this poses an accident hazard to the rider and other road users.

The remedy
