The defect

The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may have been contaminated by water leaking from the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) drain grommet. Water in the ORC module could cause the illumination of the airbag warning light and/or a potential inadvertent airbag deployment without warning.

The hazard

Inadvertent airbag deployment may pose an injury/crash hazard.

The remedy

Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd will write to owners of all affected vehicles.Alternatively, consumers can contact their Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge distributor/dealer to schedule a service appointment at their convenience.
