The defect

The intercooler sleeve may detach from the throttle body, causing an engine warning light to be illuminated and a loss of power to the vehicle.

The hazard

If the vehicle unexpectedly suffers a loss of power, it could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.

The remedy
