The defect

A cross-member at the base of the rear seat frame may have been improperly welded to the seat frame.

The hazard

If a vehicle with an improperly welded seat frame is involved in a rear impact accident, there is an increased risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Holden will contact affected owners in writing and advise them to present their vehicle to a Holden dealer to have the seat frame welding inspected. If a defective weld is identified, the seat frame assembly will be replaced free of charge.For further information, consumers can contact their local Holden Dealer or Holden Customer Care on 1800 632 826.
