The hazard

If moisture containing conductive substances (such as road salt) enters the battery sensor, it could cause an electrical short and consequently a fire.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and advised to take their vehicle to a Honda Dealer. The dealer will inspect the battery sensor to confirm if a countermeasure part has previously been installed. If required, the battery sensor will be replaced.
