The defect

Due to an improper manufacturing process, a component within the fuel pump could swell causing the fuel pump to become inoperative.

The hazard

If the fuel pump stops working, this could stop the engine from starting or stall the engine while driving. This may increase the risk of an accident and may result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.Warning: the ACCC considers that the hazard posed to consumers from this safety defect includes the risk of an accident resulting in serious injury or death.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and advised to take their vehicle to a Honda dealer for repair.Consumers can also contact the service department of their preferred Honda dealer to make a booking to have the repair conducted free of charge, subject to parts availability.If you require further information, please call Honda on 1800 804 954 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am-6pm AEST) or contact Honda via https://www.honda.com.au/contact-us.
