The defect

The hazard

Without power steering, the steering wheel can become heavy and additional effort is required to control the vehicle. The reduced control over the vehicle may pose a hazard to the driver, or other road users.

The remedy

A letter will be sent to affected owners. Return the vehicle to an authorised Hyundai dealership to have the MDPS inspected for either steering motor replacement or a software upgrade.
