The defect

The SRS deployment software could inadvertently deploy the front airbags when it is not necessary. There is a risk of airbag deployment when the vehicle is traveling at low speed or when stationary.

Unintended airbag deployment poses an accident hazard and risk of injury.

The remedy

Return the vehicle to an authorised Hyundai dealership to have the airbag control module reprogrammed with the update algorithm that has the correct air deployment sequence.
