The defect

The trunk jumper harness used on Roadmaster models was manufactured without silicone plugs that are intended to keep water out of the unused connector terminals. This may allow water ingress and potential corrosion.

The hazard

Corroded wires may cause erratic tail/brake light operation from both the trunk and fender lights, posing an accident hazard to the rider and other road users.

The remedy
