The defect

Improper machining of the transfer case cover may result in oil seal displacement, allowing transmission fluid (ATF) to escape.

The hazard

As a result of transmission fluid loss, the ATF pressure may drop, the gear shift may fail, warning lamps may illuminate and in the worst case, the vehicle may become immobile without warning.

The remedy

All customers will be contacted by letter mailed to their last known address.
