The defect

Affected vehicles equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) may, in certain driving conditions, experience a delay in the vehicle’s acceleration.

An unexpected reduction in the vehicle’s acceleration could potentially cause an accident.

The remedy

Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer to upgrade the software in the transmission control unit at no charge.
