The defect

The starter motor 12V connection lug may be fitted incorrectly and may touch a metal component, causing a short circuit.

The hazard

If the starter motor lug does touch another metal component it may cause a short circuit and pose a fire hazard.

The remedy

Peugeot Automobiles Australia will contact all known owners by mail and advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred approved Peugeot dealer to have the starter motor connection inspected and if necessary, reposition the connection lug free of charge.
