The defect

An electronic component in the built-in systems interface (BSI) is potentially faulty, leading to malfunctions of certain electrical equipment, such as the radio/navigation, windscreen wipers, lighting or the triggering of instrument panel warning lights.

If the defect occurs whilst the vehicle is in use this poses a potential accident hazard to the driver and other road users.
