The defect

When excessive load is applied to the steering wheel, the steering wheel hub may crack or break.The driver may experience steering wheel vibration and noise.

The hazard

If the steering wheel hub cracks or breaks, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, possibly leading to a collision with the risk of injury to vehicle occupants and bystanders and risk of damage to property.

The remedy
