The defect
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) motor may “stick” post engagement of the EPB (for example when parking) and the EPB may not be able to be subsequently released.

The hazard
If the EPB does not release, the vehicle will remain in situ until such time as the issue is rectified. This may cause a hazard to the driver and/or other road users.
The remedy
Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for the recall work at no charge.
