The defect

If not routed correctly, the wires exiting the ignition switch may be damaged by contact with the front brake hose.

The hazard

If the wires are damaged, motorcycle lighting may be lost unexpectedly or the engine may stall. This could increase the risk of an accident and injury to the rider or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.

The remedy
