The defect

Gas-filled shock absorbers on the rear axle may have an incorrect weld on the lower securing eye of the shock absorber.

The hazard

The lower shock absorber attachment can come loose and affect vehicle handling, posing an accident risk.

The remedy

Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles.
