The defect

The bolt that secures the brake pipe bracket to the rear axle may not be manufactured to specifications and could loosen over time.

The hazard

If the defect occurs there may be failure of the rear brake pipe, loss of brake fluid, and significantly reduced brake performance. This poses a hazard to the driver and other road users.

The remedy

A letter is being sent to affected owners. Ford advises owners to drive with caution and at moderate speed until the inspection and rectification of the vehicle has occurred.For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford's Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
