The defect

The inner cover of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may not have been sealed correctly to the TPS outer casing. If this is the case, the adhesive area may crack when the TPS screws are tensioned. If a crack is present, water may enter. If this happens, the TPS signal to the Engine Control Unit will be incorrect causing poor idle, engine stalling and hard re starting
