The defect

The Vehicle Dynamics Control G sensor on the affected vehicles may have been installed in the incorrect position at the time of manufacture which may cause the VDC system to malfunction when activated, leading to the vehicle becoming unstable. The VDC system will only activate when the vehicle is being driven close to its performance and handling capabilities.
