The defect

Some of the upper engine cases in the affected model range may have porosity in the aluminium casting. This porosity occurs in the vicinity of a pressurised oil passage just above the transmission output shaft. Engine oil leaking from this location may be deposited on the rear tyre, creating the potential for an accident to occur.
