The defect

Due to improper mounting position of the Rear Brake Light Switch assembly, the temperature of the switch assembly may be increased by heat from catalytic converter. Therefore, if the switch assembly is cooled with some external water (ie. rain or puddle), the water can penetrate into the switch cover inside.

The hazard

Can cause corrosion on electrical contact points, leading to poor electrical contact, resulting in possibility of No Stop Lamp operation while braking by rear brake only.

The remedy

Customers will be required to present their machine at their nearest Honda dealer for modification. The Dealer will carry out the fitting of a new Rear Brake Light Switch at no charge to the owner.Honda will directly contact all customers by mail.
