The defect

The internal dimension of the press fit collars may be oversized, reducing the locking capacity of the collar.

The hazard

For vehicle applications with drum brakes, the collar may disengage from its proper location, potentially causing the wheel and axle shaft to disengage from the vehicle.

The remedy

Consumers of vehicles within the specified model range with beam axles (not independent rear suspension) and rear drum brakes and who have had the product fitted since 3 December 2010 should contact Motospecs on 1800 463646 to establish if their vehicle was repaired by one of the 22 Motospecs customers.Consumers who have had the product fitted to their vehicle since 3 December 2010 should limit any use of the vehicle until they determine if the product requires replacement.
