The defect

In the electric power steering rack and pinion assembly of affected vehicles, if the steering wheel is frequently turned to the full lock position with high force, there is the possibility that the nuts that secure the pinion shaft may become loose. If the vehicle is continually operated in this condition, the pinion shaft clearance may change, causing power generated by the EPS motor not to be fully transmitted, resulting in reduced power steering assistance.
