The defect

It cannot be ruled out that the piston rod of the rear spring strut, in connection with the Dynamic ESA option, could break.

The hazard

If the defect occurs this could cause an accident and potential injury or death of the rider and/or passenger.

The remedy

A letter is being sent to affected customers. BMW advises riders to not ride their motorcycles until the defect is remedied.
