The defect

The under bonnet low pressure fuel feed hose may detach from the fuel filter, causing fuel to leak into the engine bay and the engine to stall. This will also cause loss of power, assisted braking and steering.

The hazard

The engine may cut out with minimal warning, causing sudden loss of power and reduced braking and steering capacity, which could cause a crash.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and advised to take their vehicle to a Jaguar authorised dealer, which will add a spring wire retention clip to the joint.
