The defect

In certain 2018 model year Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Discovery vehicles, the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) feature may not be available when required. A warning message will not be displayed on the instrument cluster to inform the driver that AEB is unavailable.

The hazard

AEB would normally activate to avoid or reduce the severity of a collision. If the system does not activate as designed, there could be an increased risk of an accident and injury.

The remedy
