The defect

These vehicles had a previous safety recall campaign to download new lighting control software to the management system. There is a possibility that this software upgrade did not complete satisfactorily and therefore, the vehicle requires the latest software upgrade to be performed.

The hazard

The lighting switch position may be incorrectly detected by the lighting management system. In rare cases, this may cause the exterior lights to inadvertenly cut out with no action taken by the driver.

The remedy

A registered letter is being sent to all owners contactable by Peugeot Automobiles Australia within the affected VIN range.Owners are advised to make an appointment with their servicing dealer to have the software upgraded free of charge.
