The defect
High stress may cause a propogating fatigue crack and breakage of the right hand front driveshaft.

The hazard
If the defect occurs, the driver will notice noise and loss of drive. If the vehicle comes to a stop unexpectedly, it may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.
The remedy
A letter is being sent to affected owners.Please contact your local Volvo dealership to arrange for a replacement of the right hand drive shaft.
