The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue with a braking component the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) function may fail under hard braking.

The hazard

In the event of an accident or hard braking, a loss of vehicle stability systems will increase the risk of an injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Audi Australia Pty Ltd and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised Audi dealership to have the work carried out free of charge.
