The defect

The low pressure fuel pump impeller may become deformed and cause the fuel pump to stop working. This can result in the vehicle stalling.

The hazard

A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.

The remedy

Owners can contact their preferred Mazda Dealer for replacement of the low pressure fuel pump at no charge.
