The defect
Due to a manufacturing issue, the throttle tube may break when excessive lateral pulling force is applied. If this occurs it may result in an unintended acceleration and a loss of vehicle control.

A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of an accident causing injury or death to the rider and/or passenger or other road users.
The remedy
Owners of affected motorcycles can contact their local Yamaha dealer to make an appointment to have the work carried out free of charge.
