Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Under heavy use the coupling head and coupling shaft may develop slackness. This may create extra stress on the locking pin which may shear. The shaft could then rotate in the coupling head, unscrew and detach.

The hazard

If the coupling head unscrews and detaches from the coupling shaft, only the safety chains will attach the trailer to the tow vehicle and this can create an unstable tow situation, which could poses an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.

The remedy

Consumer should inspect the coupling for evidence of excessive wear and contact their place of purchase to receive a replacement.
