The defect

The existing labelling of the Jack does not fully comply with the requirements of the mandatory consumer product safety standard for vehicle jacks based on Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZ 2693:2003 - Vehicle Jacks ("vehicle jack safety standard").

The remedy

Jayco will write to all affected Jayco caravan owners currently on its data base and provide correct labels. The letter will explain how to affix the replacement labels. There is no charge for these new labels. If a Jayco caravan owner does not receive a letter by 30 November 2007, or does not have their contact details registered with Jayco, or has bought a used Jayco caravan they should contact Jayco to arrange for a label to be sent to them.
