Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The ‘Stand Assist’ system which keeps the bike upright when stopped may not release immediately after deactivation as intended. This may prevent the rider from steering, resulting in a loss of vehicle control.

The hazard

A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of an accident causing serious injuries to the rider and/or passenger or other road users.

The remedy

Consumers are requested to contact their local Yamaha Dealer to set up an appointment to have the stand assist deactivation recall carried out free of charge. Customers must also ensure that the stand assist indicator light on the dash is not lit up when using the motorcycle. If the light is illuminated, this indicates the stand assist is active.
