The defect
The electrical connector of the steering column switch may not have been installed correctly and could detach resulting in steering column and steering wheel functions becoming inoperative. This may result in airbag failure and the inability to indicate, change gears or change traction control settings.
The hazard
An inability to indicate and a reduction in vehicle control increases the risk of a crash resulting in serious injury or death to occupants or other road users. Driver airbag failure in the event of a serious crash greatly increases the risk of injury or death to the driver.A loss of traction or motive power increases the risk of a crash resulting in serious injury or death to occupants or other road users.
The remedy
