The defect

Due to a software issue with the Shift Control Unit (SCU), the parking pawl (P) may fail. This could result in vehicle moving or rolling away whilst engaged in park position.

The hazard

If the vehicle moves from the parked position while unattended, it may increase the risk of a crash causing injuries to others and possible damage to property.

The remedy

Owners can contact their preferred authorised Hyundai Blue Drive dealer to have the SCU software updated, free of charge.
