The defect

The vehicle jack provided with certain vehicles may be faulty and also may not meet the requirements of the Australian Consumer Product Safety Standard. If a faulty vehicle jack is used, it could become unstable and the raised vehicle may fall.

The hazard

If the raised vehicle falls whilst using the jack, this would increase the risk of serious injury or death to anyone under or near the vehicle.

The remedy
