The defect
Due to a manufacturing defect, the high voltage battery may not meet specifications and could discharge or in some instances lead to a vehicle fire.

The hazard
A vehicle fire may increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their BMW Group Australia or a BMW dealer to have any affected high-voltage battery cell modules replaced free of charge.
