The defect

One of the temperature sensors of Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) could fail. As a result, the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may activate the limp home mode safety feature and cause a loss of motive power.

The hazard

A loss of motive power while driving could result in a gradual reduction of vehicle speed. If this occurs, the traffic behind the vehicle may not react in time increasing the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, and other road user.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their most convenient Mahindra dealer to have the sensor replaced, free of charge.
