The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) ring may not be securely fitted to the ABS rotor. This may result in the ABS rotor dislodging. A dislodged ABS rotor will cause ABS system faults and possible brake failure.

The hazard

Brake failure could increase the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Daimler Truck Australia asking them to contact their nearest authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle Dealership and make arrangements to have the work carried out as soon as possible free of charge.
