The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the indicator that shows the fuel level may not work as intended. This may result in an incorrect display of fuel level and therefore the driver may not be aware when the fuel tank becomes empty.

The hazard

If the fuel tank becomes empty, the vehicle may lose power and break down without prior warning. Sudden loss of power increases the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact Audi Australia Pty Ltd to ensure their details are correct.Audi Australia Pty Ltd will contact owners and are requesting they arrange with their nearest authorised Audi dealership to have the work carried out free of charge.
