The defect

The towing capacity labels found on the driver's side door and tow bar do not match the approved maximum capacities listed in the owners manual.

The hazard

If the driver attempts to tow a load higher than the approved maximum, this could result in a serious accident to the vehicle occupants or other road users that can lead to severe injury or death.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their nearest Chrysler Jeep Dodge (CJD) Dealer to have the work carried, free of charge. The dealer will remove the non-compliant labels and affix new replacement labels showing the correct specifications.Owners can visit https://www.jeep.com.au/dealers.html to find their nearest authorised CJD Dealer.
