The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the service brake mounting flange was incorrectly positioned prior to welding. This may cause the electric brake to lock.

The hazard

If the electric brake locks, it may cause unintended braking leading to unpredictable vehicle operation. This could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

If the vehicle is not in service, it should not be sold to the final owner until inspected and rectification action undertaken if required.If in service, customers should limit use of the trailer and contact Cruisemaster for inspection.
